Most of current Rwandan historians and common people agree that Rugamba Cyprian was the most talented singer all times in Rwandan history.
Some of the current veteran Rwandan singers find in him a source of inspiration and a model of philanthropy, love and the sense of patriotism.
Those include singer such as Mariya Yohani, Francois Xavier Ngarambe, Jean Marie Muyango, among others.
Yesterday a relatively big numbers of Catholic Church beliefs adherents have commemorated the Mary the Immaculate Ascending event to heaven as well as the commemoration of singer Rugamba who observed her directives.
Most of people who spoke to Umuseke after the Christian Mass held in Kicukiro this Monday affirmed that Rugamba was devoted worshiper of Mary the Holy Mother of Jesus Christ especially on her directives on love of the fellow.
The Mass was co-organized by Rugamba family members and the Communaute de l’Emmanuel as well as the Amasimbi n’Amakobe Choir.
He was a peaceful man who strived to nurture peace and love among his surrounding humans, as affirmed Francos Xavier Ngarambe from the Communaute de l’Emmanuel.
Ngarambe said that Rugamba was a man of love, mercy and charity to the needy ones
He therefore revealed that the aim is to insert his (Rugamba) values in the youth and strive to make them memorable for immortal times.
Rugamba focused on other people’s positive sides rather than estimating their weaknesses.
Rugamba’s son called Olivier Rugamba underlined that the message contained in his father’s songs are of huge importance and should be conserved eternally.
Among the most memorable values contained in his songs include respect, patriotism, love of the neighbor, mercy, humility and courage, Olivier Rugamba has cited.
The Catholic Church has started a canonization process of Rugamba Cyprian and this is an encouraging step as highlighted by his son Olivier Rugamba.
Rugamba Cyprian was a talented singer, songwriter, poet and books writer.
He and wife, Mukansanga Daphrose were killed during the genocide perpetrated again the Tutsi in 1994.
