The Advisory council of the Ruhango district ousted the Executive Committee due to the alleged serious miscommunication and poor management of public funds.
Some of the members of the Advisory Council told Umuseke that the Executive Committee operations have been allocated to the Provincial management level.
The ones removed from their duties include Mayor Francois Xavier Mbabazi, his deputy in charge of economic plan Epimaque Twagirimana and Vice Mayor in charge of social affairs Annonciata Kambayire.
The President of Advisory Council of Ruhango district named Jerome Gasasira Rutagengwa said that one of the key reasons of their removal is related to money laundering.
Their removal is also linked to the alleged mismanagement of funds reserved for the social welfare of Ruhango dwellers, he told our reporter.
Mbabazi and Twagirimana were re-elected in 2016 while Annonciata Kambayire was exercising her first term.
Their resignation came few days after the Rwandan Minister of local government Francis Kaboneka visited the district and advised its leaders to peacefully absorb the situation.
Today’s unexpected resignation of the Executive Committee showcases that cooperation and communication among its members were poor.
