The incident happened in Buhanda sector, Ruhango district in South Province of Rwanda. It was around 5PM, Tuesday when armed thieves stormed a Bank of Kigali branch, shot among tellers killing one and wounded several others.
The dead was a recently married woman named Quesie. She got married with three last months.
Robbers stole money and ran away. Locals told our reporter on groud that each thieves wore uniform resembling to the RDF’s.
The Bank’s security keeper was severely injured by knives injected to him by the robbers.
Another bank security keeper exchanged fire with them but they overtook him and he ran away.
Robbers entered into the bank after breaking the doors with the rifles and shot dead one of the tellers named Quesie Muhawenimana.
Among the injured ones is the Bank manager whose is kept under medical care at Gitwe Hospital.
However, it is not clear yet if the robbers stole the money from the bank as the box containing money remains locked.
Security and civil organs intervened at the crime site to assess the situation and start thorough investigation.
The robbers went missing and unidentified as they left the bank before security forces reached the area.
