She said that during her visit to two neighboring districts namely Rusizi and Nyamasheke where locals claim that they are utilizing duty water fetched from the Kivu lake as clean water is not largely made available.
One of the locals name Marceline Nyarandikumana told Umuseke that the lack of clean water provokes diseases such as diarrhea and other related sicknesses.
As to avoid such diseases, she said that they boil it but this time consuming and negatively impacts on atmosphere and environment.
In our previous articles, Umuseke reported about the deplorable state of water locals fetch from the Kivu Lake and use at a daily basis.
Hon Kamayirese told officials from the area that clean water would be made available and reduces the purchasing price to help locals benefit from it easily and at a cheap price.
However, one of the officials from the Water Sanitation Hygiene (WSH) called Lambert Karangwa promised that the WASAC Corporation is striving to clean the water and pack it into tanks that will spread it among residents of both districts.
He said that the project will serve not less than 80 thousand people throughout both districts.
Karangwa said that one of the tanks will be set up at Nkombo Island to help each of the citizens acquire water installation.
He said that two water tanks in Ruganda and Bigutu have enough water to supply over ten sectors from both districts.
Hon Kamayirese reminded locals to take care of the water installations that will be made available for them in the coming future as they are the first beneficiaries
