Mukamana Julianna lives in a small and one room house that is in deplorable physical conditions. The family fears that the house could collapse at any time.
The house is built nearby a electronic power installation and the family fetches water from remote area, around one hour on foot. At the time when UM– USEKE visited the family, the husband was not around. The wife told us the husband went to search for means to survive.
We are given this house by goodhearted person who freely allowed us to have a shelter, Mukamana reveals.
My husband and I have a land to build a house but we lack means to built it. If we could know where to search for a help, we would go there, Mukamana said.
Mukamana told UM– USEKE that fetching water is a challenging situation where family members are to travel one hour to fountain that the is local far from the family location.
Water sanitation related problems make up a general concern as among 8 cells that compose the Rusororo sector, only 5 five are equipped with water sanitation.
This family has a very deplorable and risky toilet that is located in a bush. The executive secretary of the Rusororo Sector, Uwimana Jacques told UM– USEKE that nothing can be done for the family because, he says, the family can move from that place to another more secured house.
Concerning the house, Uwimana Jacques said that the administration will advise the owner of the house to rehabilitate the house and if not the house will be closed so to prevent it from collapsing upon the family members.
