Even thought Rwandan Ministry of health has done a lot in eradicating the tuberculosis at 89 per cent, huge significant progress are needed to achieve 100 per cent and this is what the Ministry is committed to achieve.
This has been said by the Ministry of Health Dr Agnes Binagwaho who presided the international day against the Tuberculosis which took place yesterday in the Southern Province.
Statistics show that over 6000 people has been prognosticated with TB’a symptoms in 2013 among which 3554 were found positive.
The Governor of the Southern Province, Munyentwali Alphonse promised to the health staff from the Ministry of health that the Province authorities both medical and political are going to apply all the advises given.
During a short but insightful speech, Rwandan Minister of health Dr Agnes Binagwaho underlined the importance of reaching every TB sufferer and to provide him/her with needed medical care.
We wish every person who suffers from the TB should receive the medical treatment he/she deserves and we should combine efforts to eradicate this deadly disease, she said.
Medical assistance cured over 89,6 per cent among those infected. This statistics provided Rwanda with an international reward for its remarkable achievement into fighting TB.
The Mayor of Nyanza disctrict Murenzi Abudallah assured participants that all issues, including TB, which is likely to endanger the lives of Rwandans in general and Nyanza dwellers in particular will be fought against with all means possible..
The WHO representative in Rwanda Dr Mugabekazi Julie commended Rwanda for its internationally recognized achievements Rwanda has made in the process of eradicating the deadly disease
Dr. Julie urged medical staff as well as the political decision makers to put more efforts in assisting the financially unfitting people to receive adequate medical care to cure the TB.
