Before ending up her official visit to Rwanda, the worldly Transparency International Chief, Huguette Lebelle told reporters that Rwanda has achieved a lot in different areas that are worthy to be lauded. She said these include a remarkable fight against injustice related to domestic violence and poverty reduction.
She revealed to reporters that the aim of her visit to Rwanda was to finding out the mechanisms Rwandan institutions use in fighting against all kinds of injustice.
Another reason for her visit was to learn more on what is being done in the investigation about the death of the former TIR worker Gustave Makonene who was killed in Rubavu district.
Institutions in charge of this case told Lebelle that investigation continues, promising her that results on this case will be made public soon.
The Transparency international chief lauded Rwanda for its achievements in the areas of economy and social security issues whereby Rwandans feel comfortable and secure.
She said that among 140 countries she visited, Rwandan juridical institutions stand better the others.
However, she urged that adequate measures should be taken as to increase the working and living conditions of Policemen because, according to her, this institution is the most corrupted.
For Ingabire Mary Immaculate, the Transparency Rwanda manager, there are huge task ahead as to eradicate the corruption among all institutions even if more has been done.
For her, information concerning corruption issues should be provided on time as to set up measures to deal charge the suspects and bring justice to victims.
She reminded Rwandans the fight against corruption is an endless efforts that require everybody’s collaboration.
