Rwanda: Investor Peter Kramer is willing to boost education sector

As one of the key partners of Rwanda in its education sector, Peter Kramer told media that he is willing to invest more in education as to improve its quality. He, at the other side, lauded the level of economic improvement Rwanda has achieved since 1994.

He normally collaborates with UN education body called UNICEF in his efforts to boost Rwandan education sector.

Peter Kramer revealed his plans to media after holding private talks with HE Paul Kagame his office.

As he visited Rwanda, Peter Kramer was accompanied by a relatively big delegation that is made up of members of the Schools for Africa Initiative.

The Schools for Africa Initiative works collaboratively with the Mandela Foundation as to back African governments to improve their education policies and financially contribute to their budgets related to education.

The Permanent Secretary of State in the Ministry of education Olivier Rwamukwaya who represented the Minister of Education  told media that the journey of Mr Kramer targeted to  commend President Kagame who his efforts to improve Rwandan education throughout 22 years ago.

He added that the visitor is willing to invest more in education especially in secondary and university levels.

The UNICEF started providing its budgeterial support to Rwanda since 2008 and  the Schools for Africa Initiative started working  with Rwanda in areas of curriculum development, teachers’ training, among other opportunities.

Currently the UNICEF agreed to provide to Rwanda with 100 schools to equip it with more adequate schools through the Schools for Africa Initiative.
