Minister of foreign affairs of Rwanda, Mushikiwabo Louise with her countpart of Netherlands Fred Teevens signed bilateral agreements to hinder the illegal migration from prospering between both nations.
News from the Ministry of foreign affairs affirm that Rwanda appreciates the cordial relations existing between both nations especially in area of justice.
We appreciate the contribution of the state of Netherlands to promote juridical institutions in Rwanda as a country that needs more justice based on its historical background, reads the MINAFFET website.
Minister Mushikiwabo added that both nations are examining ways to spread the sphere of partnership as to include more sectors of economy and trade.
Minister Teevens said that the government of Netherlands is keenly willing to foster its collaboration with Rwanda especially in matters relating to migration.
Both nations have achieved a lot in matters relating to justice and I am convinced that both nations will achieve better in avoiding illegal migration, stated Minister Fred Teevens.
Minister Teevens said that Netherlands will keep investing in agriculture and in other areas of development as his government wishes to promote its partnership with Rwanda in long period of time.
During his visit in Rwanda, Minister Fred Teevens visited the Kigali Memorial Centre, The Rwanda National Police headquarters,The National archives of Gacaca records, the Prison of Mpanga and the Genocide Memorial site in Nyamata.
Minister Teevens visited the Ministry of justice where he discussed with the Minister Johnson Busingye on ways to extradite genocide suspects living in Netherlands.
