In an international conference called ITB (Internationale Tourismus Börse)” that has taken place in Berlin, Rwanda has been elected as the best African country to have developed its tourism industry.
The last time Rwanda was elected to occupy this place was in 2010. The meeting has bought together 200 African institutions to assess the tourism development in Africa. Kenya and Uganda presented their respective touristic attractions but Rwanda won the first place as the only African country to have protected its fauna especially mountain gorillas.
Ambassador Rugwabiza Valentine the RGB manager expressed her appreciation towards the trophy. She underlined the Rwanda’s commitment increase its efforts in caring about its natural resources.
It is not the first time Rwanda wins such trophies. It has won such prestigious trophies in 2008, 2009, 2010.
Last year Rwandan tourism sector attracted over 1,137,000 tourists and generated over $293.6 Million equivalent to 4 percent of increase compared to preceding 2012.
