Rwanda ready to host migrants being sold in Libya- Min Mushikiwabo

The Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs Louise Mushikiwabo twitted that the experience Rwandans have from many years of being refugees dictates them ‘to feel’ for refugees, migrants and stateless persons.

She wrote that despite the fact that Rwanda is small country, it will find a space for them.

‘Indeed, Rwanda’s political philosophy and the experience of many Rwandans for many years not having a country they call home, have led this country to feel for refugees, migrants, stateless persons. Rwanda is small, but we will find some space!’ she twitted.

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat lauded the commitment of Rwanda to host those stateless people being sold in Libya.

He called upon other states of the African Union to take the lead in this endeavor as Rwanda did.

Moussa Faki urged African nations and private sector partners to provide a financial support as to come in help to those suffering stateless people in Libya.

“I call upon AU state members to provide needed support as to help willing migrants in Libya to be relocated.”, he wrote.
