Within a month of heavy rain, 16 people lost their lives and properties, including houses, were destroyed.
According to statistics provided by the Ministry of refugees and disaster management, not less than 371 houses have been damaged by storms and heavy rains until this ending month.
The communiqué of the Ministry reveals that districts such as Nyagatare, Rusizi, Huye and Gatsibo were the most seriously affected.
During two months April and March, natural disasters have killed not less than 16 people and wounded over 26 others.
The consequences of these rains include the shelter less people who are hosted by neighbors before getting renewed houses.
Due to this, The Ministry in charge of disaster management has provided victims of these disasters with first aid facilities for them to survive.
The Ministry of disaster management is urging Rwandans who live in highly endangered zones to evacuate so not to be exposed to these deadly disasters.
It is also reminding the general public to rehabilitate the water canals, rehabilitate roofs and build new houses with strong tools.
Due to the fact that the most of victims are children, MIDMAR reminds parents to keep an open eye to their offspring as not to let them be exposed to deadly disasters.
