This has been officially confirmed last night in a voting ceremony that took place in Serena Hotel where the Head of State Paul Kagame was present.
The representative of the African Football Confederation, CAF, Alamany Kabele Kamara expressed his confidence on the ability and the preparedness of Rwanda to effectively host the championship.
Talking on behalf of the President of CAF, Issa Hayatou, Kamara said that Hayatou will be attending the championship when it will be carried out in Rwanda next year.
In his speech he underlined the importance of the CHAN, Kabele highlighted that it intends at helping African young footballers to showcase their skills and develop them for a better future carrier.
Rwandan minister of sports and culture, Julienne Uwacu said that Rwanda is proud of having given the opportunity to host such sporting international event.
For her, the entire event will be fully and effectively conducted.
We started preparations early and this convinced us that event will be fruitful, she said.
According to the agenda, the CHAN will start on Januar, 16, 2016:
Group A: Rwanda, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Gabon.( at Amahoro Stadium)
Group B: DRC, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Angola (at Huye)
Group C: Tunisia, Guinea, Niger, Nigeria (at Nyamirambo)
Group D: Zimbabwe, Zambia, Uganda, Mali (at Rubavu)
