The African Union General Assembly has elected Rwanda to chair the Body next year. Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs Louise Mushikiwabo twitted that the decision was taken as the AU concluded its plenary session that took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia this week.
President Kagame will chair the African Body from January, 30 next year in replacement of the Guinean President Alpha Conde.
Louise Mushikiwabo lauded the AU decision adding that this is a pleasure to Rwanda.
Rwandan senior officials expressed their appreciation about the AU decision to elect Rwanda as the chairing member state of the Body.
Those include the Rwandan Ambassador to Belgium Olivier Nduhungirehe who twitted that he is proud of knowing that Rwanda will chair the African Body next year.
