Rwanda to represent the EAC in cycling during the 2016 Olympic games

According to the list delivered by the Union Cycliste Internationale, , Africans countries that will be represented include Algeria, South Africa, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Rwanda. The rally for men will start on August, 06, 2016 at Copacabana beach, Brazil.

First phase will be done by each rider competing for himself but after six days, each will be racing as a player representing his country.

USA, Venezuala, Chile and Eritrea are also be represented but at a relatively low level as USA will be represented by two players, Venezuela by two riders while Chile and Eritrea will be represented by one rider, respectively.

Unexpectedly, the Islamic republic of Iran will be represented by three riders and the same as Ukraine that will be represented by three players.

East African Community member countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi and DRC did not manage to be represented due to the lack of required marks to qualify them in the top ten best performing riders.

Hadi Janvier is currently living in Gabon to participate into the La Tropicale Amisa Bongo rally.

He won the All Africa Games rally and was decorated with a golden medal. The Rwandan star has also been accommodated by a German based team called Bike Aid that coaches him and increases his riding skills.

Hadi Janvier who is 24 years is a native of Nyabihu in Northern Province and he will be the first one to represent Rwanda in the cycling games during the forthcoming Olympic Games.

He has qualified for the participation in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games after winning the lastly ended Tour du Rwanda rally.
