Rwanda wishes Peaceful relations with Tanzania-Mushikiwabo

This is what Rwandan Minister of Foreign Affairs Mushikiwabo Louise told Journalists during a Press Conference that took place at the Ministry’s Headquarters today ,Thursday,8,August .

The Press conference took place one day after the Tanzanian authorities decided to chase away all Rwandan refugees from its territory.

News from those refugees say that they are chased in sad situations.Some of them said they have lost their properties or family members.

Minister Mushikiwabo told journalists that the chasing way of Rwandans from Tanzanian should have been communicated to Rwanda,but it was did not happen.

“We are close neighbors who have different interests in different areas. Peaceful relations are the most important between both nations” said Minister Mushikiwabo.

She assured those refugees that Rwanda will provide everything necessary for them to feel at home and live comfortably.

A the other hand she told Tanzanians living in Rwanda that they are secured as any other Rwandan as Rwanda is part of the EAC.

Last Week Tanzanian President Kikwete told the Tanzanian Parliament that Tanzania wishes peaceful relations between both nations.

However these words from Kikwete did not hinder Tanzanian local authorities from chasing away Rwandans living in the places closer to Rwandan border.
