DRC migration staff and HCR in partnership with Rwandan MIDMAR helped Congolese refugees to return home after they tried to return in unlawfulness way.These refugees were among the recently fled Congolese towards Rwanda due to a recent heavy fighting in Kivu Province in DRC.
The road back home was organised by HCR and MIDMAR,Ministry of Disaster management and refugees.Mr Jean Damascene Kayitana told Umuseke that the Ministry welcomes every refugee to Rwandan territory and helps everyone willing to go back home ,but in lawful way.
Julien Paluku ,Mayor of the North Kivu Province appreciated what the Rwandan Government is doing to receive and resettle those expelled from DRC territory.
Paluku assured the returnees security as they settle in Mugunga transition camp before they reach their respective families.
Rwanda hosts 70000 Congolese refugees who fled the DRC due to different circumstances.
