Females in Rwandan House of Parliamentarians awarded President Kagame for his efforts to dethrone Gender unbalance in Rwanda Parliament.
For them ,if all men could treat women the way H.E does,te world would be better .Mukarugema Alphonsine,leading the FFRP(Forum des Femmes Rwandaises Parlementaires,french), a women umbrella for women in the House highlighted the fact that FFRP has played a significant role in the setting of legal framework to include women in political and economic processes of Rwandan development.
Mukantabana Rose,the Speaker of the Parliament stressed her gratitude for men to have emerged the biases towards women and ypung girls ,claiming that they are not as useful as men and boys are.
“The world would be better if all men could treat women fairly as H.E Paul Kagame does, he who treats every Rwandan equally” said HonMunkantabana Rose. ‘That is why we are awarding him today’,she added.
The Award has been handled to PM Dr Pierre Damien Habumuremyi representing President Kagame.
Thanking the women, Dr Habumuremyi told women present at the ceremony that the fact that they have been involved into the political and economic process of the nation, they have to be more competitive to prove that.
“What matters most is not the representative number of women in Parliament rather the competitiveness they display” Dr Habumuremyi stated.
The Theme of the day was “Effective women in both political and economic progress”
