During a meeting between Rwandan officials and Rwandan refugees living in foreign countries, the later ones were urged to return back home peacefully because none should hinder them from repatriating in their home country.
This call was made by the Minister in charge of disaster management and refugee affairs, Mukantabana Seraphine in a meeting that aimed at explaining more to Rwandan refugees on the usefulness of coming home and build their nation.
Minister Mukantabana said that none should keep living in the refugee camps while peace reigns in Rwanda.
We urge Rwandans to return home to experience by their own eyes what is the situation on ground as they know the cessation clause has ended the refugee status since 30 June 2013, said Minister Mukantabana Seraphine.
Minister Mukantabana told refugees who are willing to remain in their host countries to search for visa cards so to be ready for any change that is likely to force them to go back home unexpectedly as it happened to Rwandans who were living in Tanzania and in Burundi.
Minister Mukantabana Seraphine advised the refugees who are not able to afford the legal papers to remain in their host countries should repatriate instead of remaining in a foreign countries where they are mistreated.
