After that a Congolese senior military officer Col Mamadou Ndala was shot to death by the Adf Nalu , Rwandans living in the East DRC are under harassment, being treated as accomplices of the death of Col Mamadou.
One of young Rwandans who managed to escape told UM– USEKE reporter in Rubavu that Congolese young people are mistreating Rwandans who usually conduct their businesses in DRC, considering to have masterminded the death of Col Mamadou Ndala.
Congolese youth tell us that we and M23 elements have killed the Congolese officer, he told UM– USEKE reporter.
As the fear inspiring atmosphere re-happens, Rwandans no longer cross the border to carry out their daily businesses in the neighboring DRC, fearing the escalation of the mistreatment.
It is still unknown of the exact number of Rwandans who faced the harassment but fear is intense among Rwandans living in the neighboring regions of Goma.
After the death of Col Mamadou Ndala, Congolese are angry and sad for the senior officer who provided more efforts to chase away the M23 rebels in Goma.
Adf Nau is a rebellion originating from Uganda that operates in DRC. This rebel group is said to have killed the Col Mamadou Ndala this Thursday, January 2014.
