Sandra Mutesi designs chairs using tiles

She is a young entrepreneur in interior design using environment based tools such as used car tiles. Mutesi Sandra has established a small business labeled Inzovu African Village that aims at increasing entrepreneurial spirits among girls and women.

In the Inzovu African Village, one observes chairs made up from bamboos and colorful walls.
One can’t afford to avoid taking a hot cup of coffee while breathing fresh air from the surrounding trees and flowers.

Sandra Mutesi told Umuseke.rw that the aim of her business is basically looking at business opportunities susceptible of enhancing girls’ skills and help them earn money.

Inzovu African Village comprises of three parts namely Coffee Shop, Arts gallery and Handcraft.
It closely works with girls’ cooperatives that practice art and handcraftsmanship through exhibiting their creations and attract potential clients.

The incomes are shared between partners where a given cooperative takes back 70% while Inzovu African Village earns 40% of the whole package.

Inzovu African Village provides 10% of its earnings to women based cooperatives as to help them live better.

Sandra Mutesi told Umuseke that she is careful about her environmental surroundings as to find out whether there is no business opportunity likely to be taken from specific kinds of garbage such as tiles.

As a university student in environmental design, she affirms that she keeps an open eye as to transform environmental garbage a business opportunity.

Sandra called upon young people to widen their minds and find out every mean and opportunity possible to change their lives for better.

One’s education is not a means in itself to become a successful entrepreneur, she advises.
Commitment, courage and a clear vision for a better future can help youth reach their goals, Sandra added.

She said that young people’s strength is a good tool towards success and they( young people) should be willing to utilize it.

Inzovu African Village is located in Remera, the road that comes from Kisimenti leading to Sonatubes at the right side of the Road, opposite Umuseke.rw Head Office.
