Penine Munyana is a 23 years’ old girl who overcame different schooling and family related challenges.
Penine said that after failing to perform in the secondary school final examinations as to enter the university, she approached the 1994 Genocide survivors Fund( commonly known as FARG) to search for a support but the its management informed that she earned fewer marks to get its support. Currently, she is proud of having completed her studies despite the challenges she faced.
However, the FARG supported her in learning the short courses after which she was supposed to search for her own means to pursue higher courses.
Munyana learnt these short courses wholeheartedly and earned the best grade, at a level that none has ever achieved before(95%).
As the best performer, the RTUC management decided to recognize her performance and pay the bursary for her as to pursue her bachelor’s degree studies.
Her testimony reveals that one’s inner willingness is something that makes the difference.
She advises young Rwandans to have a clear vision of what it’s important for them and strive to achieve it.
The fact that she learnt short courses despite the discouragement from her fellow ones did change the situation.
She thanked whoever supported her in one way or in another during her schooling experience and wishes the rest of the Rwandan youth to be as firm as she is to achieve.
