As she was inaugurating the Anti corruption week, the vice president of the Supreme Cour, Ms Zainabu Sylivie Kayitesi told reporters Rwandans are increasing their faithfulness towards the juridical system due to the fact that the ones who are found guilty get punished.
She said that since 2005, about 32 justice officials were convicted due to corruption cases.
Kayitesi said that throughout this week, different sessions will be held as to sensitize people about the harmful effects of nurturing corruption.
She added that all cases involving corruption will be treated.
We do have 56 cases related to corruption that will be treating throughout this week, she revealed.
Kayitesi Zainabu said that more efforts were provided as to reduce the pace at which corruption was evolving within six past years.
Even though we still have a lot to do as to fight against corruption, we are proud of what we did so far, she added.
Among the 32 convicted ones, were 13 judges and other officials from the juridical system were found guilty of having been involved into corruption scandals.
In order to reduce the likelihood of being bribed, one of the measures taken involved using technological means between justice deliverers and seekers.
One of the inspectors of courts Francois Regis Rukundakuvuga revealed that technology has helped at 60 percent in reducing the corruption related cases amongst the justice system.
