This Sunday Cecile Kayirebwa, a Rwanda singer held a thrilling concert in Hotel des Milles Collines where she sang traditional songs that left fans relaxed. The hall was full of 300 people who had to pay 15 000 Rwf, each.
Kayirebwa is one of the most talented and experienced traditional singers as she embarked in the profession 30 years ago.
The concert started in the due time and the aim was to release her new album entitled Urukumbuzi that comprises of 11 songs.
Among these songs there is one that highlights the badness of HIV/AIDS in order to help young people avoid getting involved in pre- marriage and unprotected sex.
As the concert went on, she stopped singing, sat down and interacted with fans. She told them how she started her carrier, challenges she underwent among other issues that interested fans including culture.
Some of the songs she sang include : Rwego rw’Ingenzi, Rwagasana, Inzozi Data yandoteye, Abuzukuru, SIDA na Uzantera irungu.
