Many blame receiving poor careers advice for their predicament.
But while 36 per cent of employees say they loath their job, only 14 per cent admit they are looking for a new one.
Those most likely to be searching the job adverts work in retail (26 per cent), transport (23 per cent) and healthcare (21 per cent), according to the study by careers service Start.
