Members of the Swedish Agency for Peace, security and Development-Folke Bernadette Academy commended the efforts delivered by the Rwandan Peace Academy staff in informing civilians on how peace can be maintained and on factors affecting peace stability.
The Ambassador of Sweden to Rwanda Jenny Ohlsonn said that Rwanda Peace Academy contributes significantly on public awareness about peace keeping activities.
She said that this endeavor benefits to different people including the military, police and civilian partners.
The Swedish delegation expressed its willingness to share its experience with the Rwanda Peace Academy on peace related expertise.
The chief delegation of the Swedish Agency for Peace, security and Development-Folke Bernadette Academy Mr Sven-Eric Soder said Sweden remains willing to provide needed support to the Rwanda Peace Academy in its peace keeping operations.
The Rwanda Peace Academy CEO, Col Jules Rutaremara told media that the Swedish delegation was grateful for the positive social and economic transformation Rwanda has achieved within 23 past years.
He added that visitors from Sweden congratulates Rwanda for its wise management of funds allocated to peace keeping missions.
After visiting the Rwanda Peace Academy, the Swedish delegation made a visit to the center for rehabilitation of former rebels and demobilized soldiers located in Mutobo, in Musanze district, Northern Province.
