In Kagera District ,a region of high altitude mountains ,Tanzanians chases Ugandans, Burundians and Rwandans .32 refugees are forced to come home.
George Kombe in charge of emigration in the Tanzanian government said that this comes in as the government has hunted down people who are suspected to have illegally entered Tanzania and send them back home.
According to the statistical research, it has been shown that not less than 32.000 refugees entered in Tanzania illegally.
After that operation as Kombe says they took 22.100 refugees to whom they gave a provisional refuge in the Mulera,Bukoba,Biharamuro,Ngara ,Karagwe,Kyerwa and Misenyi. Some of these refugees returned home freely and willingly while others remained.
In this year 164 refugees were caught entering Tanzania illegal and have been chased away by Tanzanian authorities.12 of them were Burundians.
Last week authorities of Kagera District sensitized local inhabits who live in nearby Rwandan and Burundian borders to be more vigilant to hinder them from entering the Tanzanian territory.
This chasing away of refugees comes in while the EAC invites all state members to open their borders to anyone willing to settle in one or another country being part of EAC.
