Rwandan Foreign affairs Minister Louise Mushikiwabo arrived in Dar Es Salam, Tanzania to hold bilateral talks with newly elected President of Tanzania John Joseph Pombe Magufuli.
Minister Mushikiwabo twitted that she arrived in Tanzania yesterday to exchange with President Magufuli on security issues that the region encounters.
She also wrote that the discussions will focus on how trade between both countries and across the EA community can be enhanced.
Few years ago, tensions arose between both nations due to the fact that former President Jakaya Kikwete decided to oust all Rwandans who were considered as illegal residents in Tanzania.
During his electoral campaign, Magufuli has shown his intentions to revive the relations.
He said that all Rwandans and Burundians residing there will be naturalized Tanzanians.
Observers claim that Magufuli is seemingly willing and able to reset the bilateral relations between Rwanda and Tanzania but only time will tell.
