The Aheza project composed by AERG students association won the Talent Competition during a business plan competition that took place yesterday.
Mukarurangwa is the one who won the competition and was awarded with 150 thousand Rwandan francs and will be received a financial support to keep her business developed.
AHEZA Project is a project of AERG and sponsored by the Imbuto Foundation to support the needed orphans of the 1994 genocide in their development.
Mukarurangwa thanked the Imbuto Foundation for its support reserved for the AERG members.
This talent completion brought together many talented youth including drawing , sewing, basketry, among others..
Previously Mukarurangwa Xaverine was facing operation challenges to find to start up capital but currently she is hopeful to be able to conduct her business as she has now a capital to invest.
The Head of the Aheza Project, Eugene Ndagijimana told UM– USEKE that the idea to establish this project came up after observing a necessity to help the needy orphans and widows to overcome the economic challenges.
We aimed at helping students who did not complete their university studies to continue living in an effective way.
Talent Competition was carried out in different places including Huye, Nyanza and Rwamagana among the 15 districts.
Awarded winners are urged to gather into cooperatives as to be more coordinated and get sponsorship from willing investors.
Jean Paul Kagabo the Executive secretary in the AERG said that even the ones did not win the competition will be given financial support according to the importance of the projects to sponsor.
The first winner (Mukarurangwa Xaverine) was rewarded with 150 000Rwf, the second received 100 000Rwf, the third with 70 000Rwf, the Fourth with 50 000Rwf while the firth received with 30 000Rwf.
These money is to help the young people start their own businesses and become self employed.
