This Monday, 11, January the court that treats the case of genocide suspect Leon Mugesera decided to postpone its hearing on March, 07, 2016 as to hear the last witness from the prosecution side who didn’t attend the yesterday’ session.
The lawyer of Mugesera named Jean Felix Rudakemwa told Umuseke that he and his client were in the court to hear what the witness from the prosecution side had to testify but the witness didn’t come and therefore the judge in chief decided to postpone the hearing for 07, March this year.
The witness is called Rwatende Emmanuel, lawyer Rudakemwa informs.
Mugesera faces allegations on the speech he delivered in the former Kabaya commune entitled ‘Amahembe ane ya Shitani’ (literally meaning: the four horns of the devil) that incited Hutus to nurture hatred against the Tutsis during the pre-genocide period.
The conclusive deliberations on the Mugesera’s case will take place on April, 15, 2016.
