Nkundimana Gratian was bitten by a hippopotamus as he was fetching water in nearby lake located in Nyagatare district.
He was saved by the on-lookers who intervened before the beast brought him to death.
He was taken to hospital to undergo medical treatment but one hundred thousand Rwf to pay the treatment was scarce and it ended without effectively handling all required treatments.
Nkundimana spent three months in CHUK receiving the treatment but his life is threatened by the lack of financial means to pay all the required medical bills.
He missed three appointments with the medical doctor to undergo a medical check-up.
Due to the lack of transport fees to return home, Nyagatare district, Nkundimana chose to remain at the floor of the CHUK’ buildings, waiting for an unlikely intervention of merciful acts ‘from the unknown.’
His endurance is tested as he is no longer receiving medical treatments while the wounds are getting worst.
Nkundimana revealed that he approached the Special Guarantee Fund to assist him but he received only one hundred thousand Rwf (100, 000Rwf) to use throughout the medical treatment but the amount was insufficient and has expired.
He humbly calls upon whoever can come in his help, whatever big or small, to do so as soon as possible as he endures a life-threatening situation.
