The Law that governs the functioning of the University of Rwanda has been published in the national gazette No 70/2013 of 29,September 2013 .
According to the Government release , the law stipulates all needed guidelines for all the university’s entities and its political frameworks.
Ministry of education affirms that this new University of Rwanda brings together all public universities as to set up excellent and competitive education to Rwandan students.
It is expected that the UoR will ease learning as lecturers will be moving from one university college to another.
University colleges will share libraries and research labs between themselves .
The UoR embodies different institutes such as Kigali Institute of Education,Kigali Health Institute , Institut des Sciences Agronomiques et d’Elevage (Institute for Agriculture and Animal husbandry), Kigali Institute of Sciences and Technology, School of Finance and Banking , Umutara Polytechnic University and the National University of Rwanda.
The University of Rwanda will have its siege in Kigali city in the campus of the former SFB
