The High court declared that court hearing of the case it was handling concerning the genocide suspect Mugesera is suspended to resume on April, 2016.
In the today’s court hearing, the lawyer Rudakemwa Jean who defends Mugesera was not present in the court. He was recently charged of 500 000 Rwf as a fee for his absence in the court, as situation that both the court and the persecution consider as a willingness to make the judgement lasting longer and unnecessarily.
Lawyer Rudakemwa explained that he could not attend any further court hearing, claiming that the Ministry of justice owes him some amount of money.
At the today’s occasion, Mugesera did not react on the court’s demands about the persecution’s wishes for him to face a life sentence, claiming that he can’t intervene in the absence of his lawyer.
The final decision of the court about the judgement will be declared next year, April, 15.
