The prosecution claimed that Kantengwa has given a tender to three construction companies to construct a modern office of the RSSB in Gacuriro and each of them was paid a similar  amount even before the completion of the project.

According to the prosecution, at the time when Kantengwa entered the chief office in the RSSB, there were a construction company, Caisse Consultant, that was handled the tender to set up a construction plan of the new office but, the prosecution continues, Kantengwa changed the situation and gave the construction permit to another  company called Synergy at a cost of 924 million Rwandan francs.

The former company was already paid the cash amount of 696 million Rwf for the work that was done before the arrival of Kantengwa in the RSSB.

Afterwards, the construction permit formerly entrusted to company Synergy was also removed and handled to another one called Studio Four with the tender of 617 million Rwf.

According to one expert, all these companies had to fulfill the same task and were paid money even before the completion of the tasks entrusted to them.

At her side, Kantengwa told the court that it is true that all of the companies had to fulfill the same tasks, but the construction company that did not fulfill its duties was removed its permit and it was given to another one as the construction was not moving at a remarkable pace, she revealed.

Kantengwa said that each decision was debated and voted by the Executive committee of the Rwanda Social Security Body before its execution.

She urged the court to release her from the prison as she suffers from the backbone pain, adding that this will help her appear to the court from outside where she will be receiving the medical treatment.

The Prosecution pinpointed the fact Kantengwa has handled to a certain individual who was the CEO of the UDL Company with 30 thousands US Dollars freely.

At this issue, Kantengwa responded that normally the individual was to be paid 180 Thousands US dollars but she decided to pay him with 30 thousand US Dollars because, as she said, this amount was paid him in order to avoid a higher loss that would  be caused to the government in the opposite  situation.

The court is meant to pronounce itself about the arguments of both parts  today around 4 PM local time.
