This has been testified by the President of the National Commission of the Fight against the Genocide(CNLG) Dr Jean Damascene Bizimana. Dr Bizimana said that the perpetrators are in two separate prisons namely Kigali Central Prisson and Muhanga Prison.
These books comprise of their testimonies on how they actively participated in the killings of the Tutsis as the Genocide was being committed.
He highlighted that in these days genocide survivors were the only ones to publish books but it is interesting that the genocide perpetrators do also write on their involvement in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.
For him, this is a good indicator that reconciliation process is improving as the perpetrators are willing and active in writing about their responsibilities in the killings.
Dr Bizimana said that there five books being written by convicted genocide perpetrators in Muhanga prison and in Kigali central prison, Nyarugenge district.
He said that the book being written in Nyarugenge district is rich in testimonies as men and women writing it are willing to express every point related to their deeds.
Bizimana lauded these behaviors adding that it shows that the reconciliation process is becoming more fruitful to both survivors and convicted perpetrators.
