As the phase started early this morning, Suleiman Kangangi step further and reached Kamonyi hill leading the squad until Muhanga. Leaving Muhanga, the Frenchman Jérémy Bescond took the lead alongside Kingagi.
As the squad headed towards Ruhango, another group of riders went closer to them.
The veteran Ruhumuriza Abraham imposed himself as the whole squad reached Ruhango.
Apparently he wanted to win this phase that led to his hometown in Huye.
Riders Hadi Janvier and Valens Ndayisenga encountered difficulties due to the technical malfunctions of their bikes.
As the whole squad went nearing Rusatira, Valens Ndayisenga increased his strength to go further, leaving behind the rest of the squad.
After all, Emile Bintunimana, 24 years old, was the winner of phase II. He plays in the Muhabura cycling team.
