News of Rwanda reports the presence of F.Twagiramungu Faustin, an opposition party leader to secretly meet the Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete. Twagiramungu arrived in Tanzanian last week and was received by Presidential Guards in a secret place.
President Kikwete last year urged the Rwandan government to initiate peace talks with the FDLR militias who, in 1994, committed the genocide against the Tutsi.
The President Kikwete’s speech at the Africa Union headquarters in Ethiopia angered Rwandan authorities and complicated the bilateral relations between both nations.
In recent time Twagiramungu has openly declared that his political party joins the FDLR as to create a coalition that opposes either politically or militarily the Kigali regime.
Our coalition will use all possible means to change the Kigali regime, even military means will be used if necessary, he told BBC last week.
Twagiramungu has been a Prime Minister in 1995. Twagiramungu is a veteran politician who politically has opposed all governments that ruled in Rwanda.
He attended Canadian universities in the 1960’s. He is currently living in Belgium where he heads an opposition political party, RDI -Rwanda nziza, a political party that joined the FDLR political party. In 2003, he competed for the Presidential elections but failed.
