Rwandans living in UK grouped in  West Midland-Rwandese Community Association join  the rest of Rwandans  into commemorative activities for the remembrance of the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi in 1994.

Rwandans in UK  lightened a flame of remembrance that will be taken to all  over UK  and will be taken back to Birmingham city where Rwandans living in UK will gather to commemorate the genocide against Tutsi in activities scheduled to take place on 12, April 2014.

According to the agenda, different commemorative activities are scheduled to be held in different universities in UK such as Birmingham University, Coventry University,University of Warwick.

These discussions will involve debates on historical roots of the genocide and possible measures to fight against the genocide.  Different witnesses will deliver  testimonies on how they survived in order to encourage each other.

The  leader of the WM-RCA Bosco Ngabonzima explained that the flame of remembrance means a full commitment of Rwandans to keep remembering their beloved ones who passed away in the 1994  genocide.

He added that Rwandans have been heroic to overcome the consequences of the genocide and be able to step forward to develop themselves.

Ngabonzima stated that commemoration is first and foremost meant to honour our beloved ones who innocently were massacred and provides a good opportunity to all to remember that fighting against the genocide is a general responsibility to take into account.

The 2014 will be marked by different commemorative activities scheduled to take place in different regions of UK and will be marked by humanitarian activities for genocide survivors in need across UK.

West Midland is a region located in the center of UK, in the west region of the country. It is made up of  different cities such as  Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall.

The concluding commemorative activities will be held in  Birmingham on 12 April 2014.
