As planned, the Umuganura festivities started yesterday with a walk to celebrate that started from Nyamirambo, Nyarugenge district towards Amahoro National Stadium. The panorama was eye-catching and participants were thrilled to see the spectacular dances from Rwanda and Senegal.
The walk to celebrate Umuganura Festivity is co-organized by the Ministry of culture an Sports with th Rwandan Academy of Language and Culture (RALC).
The Rwandan Minister of culture and Sports Julienne Uwacu who officially launched the festivities at Amahoro National Stadium, has also visited that exbition stands displayed around the stadium as to eye-witness the made-in-Rwanda products and art.
Mouché Mamadou Daffé who leads the Senegalese delegation thanked how effectively Rwandan officials have planed the festival, adding that the fatigue resulting from a long journey from Dakar to Kigali weakens as the festival goes on.
He added that sport and culture make a relevant pillar for beneficial diplomatic ties among African nations at large and between Rwanda and Senegal.
Cultural variety is an added value between nations and for humanity, one of Rwandans in the walk to celebrate Umuganura told Umuseke.rw.
The FESPAD is supposed to be attended by numerous African nations such as Kenya, Senegal, Egypt, among others.
