It was at the FERWAFA playground that football teams of young people from Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge districts started the competition for the Umurenge Kagame Cup. The competition was tough as to select the winning team that will represent the Kigali city.
The match between girls teams was attended by fans from the districts that are competing and were thrilled at seeing how both teams were performing.
Tha Gasabo team was the one that scored first before the first half ends. The Kicukiro team scored back in the second half and the match ended that way.
Both teams, meaning the ones of boys and girls, started lately as some of the boys who were part of the both teams were removed due to the fact that they played in first or in the second divisions, something that is not acceptable according to regulations.
After selecting the team, the match started and Gasabo team was the most active comparatively to the Nyarugenge’s one.
However the Gasabo scored first and scored another goal afterwards, making two goals out of zero.
The Nyarugenge team did not score a goal and the match ended with 2-0
All the selected teams will play as to select the one that will represent Kigali city in the Umurenge Kagame Cup, which cup helps in selecting the most talented football players.
