After the 2016 African Nations Championship ended this Sunday with the victory of the DRC leopards, Umuseke selected eleven players who have shown their tremendous performances in their respective on ground positions.
Meschak Elia from the Leopards was the best player awarded by the CHAN 2016 management due to the fact that he scored four goals.
At its side, Umuseke selected eleven players that it considered as the best ones from all the teams that participated.
The goal keeper is Lay Matambi from DRC, the Leopards.
The 27 years old goal keeper who usually plays for rhe Darling Club Motema Pembe FC managed to resist many minutes throughout the whole championship as he spent 600 minutes in the action.
He was never replaced in all six matches that his team was involved in.
Defenders:
At the right back, we selected Mohamed Youla from Guinea. He is the youngest player in his team and performed in as many matches as possible as he spent 510 minutes in action.
Youla managed to score one goal during the match with Tunisia during the final quarters.
He normally plays for the AS Kaloum FC.
At the left back, we have Joyce Lomalisa from DR Congo.
The 23 years old defender was one of the milestones of the Leopards squad that won the CHAN 2016 Trophy.
He assisted his co-players in several occasions that ended up with marking goals.
The most memorable is the one that he provided to Meschak Elia who marked the second goal that disqualified Mali that Sunday during the final match.
Lomalisa played 527 minutes in five matches his team performed in this ended CHAN 2016.
Middle fielder defenders:
Bayisenge Emery (Rwanda)
The Rwandan middle fielder who usually plays for APR FC scored the first goal during the very first match in the CHAN 2016.
He helped Amavubi national team to enter the quarter finals during the CAF championship and this was the first time it happened in the Rwandan football history.
Joel Kimwaki Mpela (DR Congo)
He is an experienced middle fielder who is 30 years old. He is a veteran from the TP Mazembe football club from DRC.
He only missed the match with the Cameroon and was the Captain of the Leopards until to the finals where the Leopards proudly won the Cup.
Middle fielders:
Lassana Samake (Mali)
The 24 years old has been able to endure 540 minutes in the action and participated into six matches. He usually plays for the Onze Createurs FC from Mali.
Yao Serge N’guessan (Ivory Coast)
He is 22 years old and plays for the Amadou Diallo FC from the Ivory Coast. He helped his tea team to win the third classification and this won him to among the most preferred players by France based football clubs such as St Etienne and Marseille.
Right winger Elia Meschak (DR Congo)
He is also 19 years old. The Tout Puissant Mazembe club recruited him recently from the Don Bosco Club.
He was crowned the best player of the CHAN 2016 after marking many goals( four goals) compared to others.
Meschak played all matches that his team got involved in, spending 527 minutes in action.
Left Winger: Hertier Luvumbu (DR Congo)
Luvumbu normally plays for the AS Vita Club. He participated into five matches that his club performed. Three times in three matches, he was crowned as the man of the match.
Among the matches in which he helped his club to win in this recently ended CHAN 2016, was that Rwandan Amavubi was bitten during the quarter finals.
Forwads:
Bolingi Jonathan Mpangi (DR Congo)
The TP Mazembe based player has scored three goals and spent 520 minutes in the action. He was able to participate in five matches.
Bolingi backed his team up to the final match against Mali in which he scored one goal.
Ahmed Akaichi (Tunisia).
The Tunisian is 29 years old. He endured 363 minutes during four matches he managed to participate in.
Alongside his team mates, Akaichi helped his team to reach the quarter finals.
