The fighting that has erupted between Riek Machar’s rebels and Salva Kirr loyal soldiers has reached the areas where the Rwandan UN peacekeepers are camping and some of them were injured. The UN condemns this and calls for immediate ceasefire between fighting sides.
A Chinese soldier lost his life as some bullets reached him, the Reuters has reported.
Currently there are neither officially published names of the dead nor the injured ones.
The UN Security Council has called upon the rivaling sides to stop fighting and negotiate for the restoration of peace that S. Sudanese people are thirsty of since their recent Independence.
The Security Council also condemns the fact that the camps of the UN peace keepers have been attacked while its role is to help in restoring peace and maintain it between rivaling sides for the safety of the civilians.
Currently hundreds of people, mostly soldiers have perished during the emerging war between Riek Machar and Salva Kirr combatants.
Each side accuses the other to have started to fighting, a fighting that pushed hundreds of civilians to leave their habitats and are hosted in UN’ refugee camps.
