The USA ambassador to Rwanda has lauded Rwanda’s efforts to eradicate the HIV/AIDS and called upon all who underwent unprotected sexual intercourse to get tested as to be sure whether they didn’t get contaminated.
Ambassador Barks said that as she addressed reporters who attended the press conference at the USA Embassy in Kigali.
Amb. Erica Barks-Ruggles said that Rwanda has wisely utilized the donations from the U.S President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), aimed at fighting against the deadly HIV/AIDS.
Rwanda benefited with over 12 billion $ among 70 ones dedicated to different countries across the globe.
This is the biggest amount of money that USA has given a county in the world as to help in health sector, she said.
The package helped Rwandans contaminated by the HIV/AIDS to get released from the pain and become more active and productive.
There is a mobilization campaign against the HIV/AIDS that is scheduled to start on November,18, 2017.
It is meant to get started at the Kigali Stadium in Nyamirambo Sector, Nyarugenge district.
