The rally was held in Nyanza last Saturday. The rally was held in order to promote both sports and culture. The winner of the rally was Uwizeye Jean Claude who normally exercises for the Les Amis Sportifs . The whole distance was 109.7 Kilometers long.
Among the renowned riders who played the tour du Rwanda only five participated in the Nyanza Heritage Challenge rally.
Those include Ruhumuriza Abraham, Byukusenge Nathan, Karegeya Jeremie, Tuyishimire Ephrem and Uwizeye Jean Claude.
The whole squad started from Kigali heading to Muhanga-Ruhango-Nyanza.
Arrived at Nyanza the whole squad crossed Nyanza city six times. During her speech, the Minister of sports and culture, Julienne Uwacu expressed he appreciation about how the rally was prepared and carried out.
She thanked the young riders who have shown the ability to carry on the task and achieve the success.
For her, this will enable them to increase their skills and compete in the forthcoming cycling competitions.
‘Nyanza Heritage Challenge’ is the last listed cycling competitions at the Rwanda according to the calendar.
