During his speech during the 20th Liberation Day that took place this Friday, 04 July, at the Amahoro National Stadium, the President of the Republic of Rwanda, Paul Kagame said that Rwandans are very capable people who overcame the different challenges encountered 20 years ago after the Liberation struggle.
The Head of state said that the Rwandans have defined the future they want to achieve and the means to achieve it.
The President of the Republic thanked all people who joined efforts as to attain the liberation goals and win the struggle that took many lives of heroes who were fighting for a honorable cause.
The Head of the State said that Rwanda Defenses Forces were the milestone of the Liberation struggle and he commended them to have participated into the lastly ended Army week where they have completed tremendous work in helping locals to improve their livelihoods.
In the Amahoro National Stadium, crowds of Rwandans coming from all the corners were gathered to eye-witness the 20 Liberation event, that was full of military parade and other festivities.
Different Heads of states including Presidents Museveni, Kenyatta, Salva Kirr, The Vice President of Burundi Bazombanza Prosper, and the widow of late Julius Nyerere, Ms Mama Mariya Nyerere.
Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo said that Rwanda is currently celebrating its 20th liberation day that was materialized under the guidance of the President Paul Kagame.
You symbolize the resilience of Rwandans as they move forward in the development, she said.
She also commended the efforts provided by Rwandan government to have empowered women as a part of the Rwandan population which contributes to the sustainable development.
The Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs, Louise Mushikiwabo wholeheartedly thanked the guests who managed to attend the celebration of the 20th liberation ceremony.
The President of Kenya Uhuru said that Rwanda was liberated from the evil and promised that Kenya will keep nurture friendly relations with Rwandans.
He expressed his appreciation for the economic progress that Rwandans have attained in 20 years ago. He said that the rest of the EAC should learn from Rwanda.
We stand by you as you move forward, President Uhuru promised.
