We must hold each other accountable- President Kagame

As he was receiving the new Imihigo performance contracts  from all local government officials and the oath of the newly elected senator Gertulde Kazarwa, the Head of state, Paul Kagame told the officials present into the Parliament House that officials  must take each other accountable so that justice must be given to citizens.

President Kagame urged the officials to keep increasing efforts in developing the living conditions of the Rwandans and that each step made in development must bear positive and lasting results.

He warned  officials involved into corruption related cases that they have to be held  accountable and pay back the public funds they misused.

After presenting the Imihigo performance contracts’achievements in  past term, the following districts were listed as the best performing: Kicukiro, Ngoma, Ngororero, Huye, Kirehe, while Gatsibo,  Rwamagana, Gasabo, Musanze and Rubavu are among the poorly performing districts in the ended Imihigo performance contract term( 2013-2014)

Imihigo are internally generated policies  where  district mayors from local government institutions make to the Head of state  regarding social and economic transformation  advances to be achieved in the coming term.
