The Western Province officials alongside development stakeholders provided material support to Rwandan refugees recently chased from Tanzania.
These material support comprised mattresses, clothes, and food supplies.
The Governor of the Western Province Ms Uwamariya Odette said that the material support was gathered from different provinces across the Province.
The support is given to mothers and elderly people who need quick and effective support to help them live comfortably.
Gov Uwamariya thanked the stakeholders who provided these gifts but urged them to keep doing so as more refugees are coming.
Murayire Protais the Mayor of Kirehe District where the refugees camp is located said that the camp hosts not less than 4000 people.
She said that all refugees receive needed support including houses and shelters for their comfort.
Children living in the camp attend schools and receive education as any other Rwandan.
The MIDMAR alongside its stakeholders set adequate infrastructures such as a small health centers among others.
Refugees living in the camp still claim for their rights over their economic assets left in Tanzania where they come from in a harsh way.
Governor Uwamariya promises that these issues will be dealt with and get a satisfying responses.
