Why should our problems be handled in Europe? – Paul Kagame

H.E Paul Kagame told the audience who is attending the 49 th AfDB Summit in Kigali that the challenges facing Africans should be handled and resolved in Africa and by Africans.

The Head of State was delivering his speech alongside the former South African President Thabo Mbeki, the former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo, Rwandan Minister of foreign affairs Ministre Louise Mushikiwabo  and the AfDB President,  Dr Donald Kaberuka who were the panelists in the debate themed ‘ Ending Conflict and Building Peace in Africa: A call to Action’.

For President Kagame, challenges facing Africa cannot be resolved   as long as the solutions about them are not grown by Africans and in Africa.

Why African leaders wait to be invited in Europe to discuss about issues facing Africa? President Kagame asked.

For the Head of State, Africans should use all means possible to handle their own problems with available resources.

We should be the ones to sit together and find out the  home-grow solutions about our own challenges, H.E Paul Kagame said.

All panelists affirmed that Africa has all that it requires to be self regulatory in terms of political and socio-economic issues.
