Police in Buikwe District have started a manhunt for two people who allegedly killed their employer, accusing him of failing to pay them a salary for three months.
According to police, the two who hail from Mitoma District in western Uganda, killed Mr Abbey Kabwisa at his farm in Bunyagira village, Buikwe District on Tuesday.
“On the fateful day, the deceased who has also been a mechanic in Ndeeba, a Kampala city suburb , went to his farm to pay workers after being away for three months. On seeing their boss, the workers started shouting at him, asking where he had been and why he had taken long to pay their salaries,” Ms Fauzia Nakyandiba, the head of Criminal Intelligence and Investigations in Buikwe District, said.
Mr John Ssebuwufu, the deceased’s neighbour said the suspects ignored the deceased’s plea to explain himself.
The reportedly dragged him to a nearby bush and hacked him to death.
Mr Ssebuwufu said some residents who heard an alarm at the farm found the suspects emerging from a nearby bush.
On asking what the alarm was about, the suspects reportedly said they were chasing after an antelope together with their boss. The suspects reportedly told the residents that their boss was still in the bush.
“But when we went to the bush, we were shocked to find his body cut into pieces,’’ Mr Ssebuwufu said.
On sensing danger, according to Mr Ssebuwufu, the two suspects picked their property from the farm house and took off.
Ms Nakyandiba said police have got detailed information about the suspects adding that the suspects have no where to hide.
She said the suspects stole money from the deceased.
‘’Their boss had come to pay their salaries, but we did not find any money on his body which means they took it,’’ she said.
