Students who are part of the Worldwide e-learning Campus are workers who usually work for their respective state based or private based institutions.

According to one of the lecturers in that university, graduates obtain that diploma program certification in each subject they learnt and the curriculum is at the international level.

The aim of the university, he said, is to produce the hands-on-skills people who are qualified enough for profession achievement in their respective duties.

The Rwandan Workforce Development Agency (WDA) as state based body that regulates all vocational related bodies was in the ceremony.

The WEC (world e-learning campus) signed with Rwandan government to train eight thousand people in the ICT basic skills to upgrade their knowledge.

The WDA is mandated by the Rwandan government to select companies and institutions that can provide workers to undergo such training.

It also provided a financial support for its functioning.

The lecturer who talked to Umuseke said that one of the important skills learnt during the process is to automate their working procedures as to be as quick and effective as possible.

This process will help managers to assess the workers’ performance remotely and therefore improve areas that need more support and care.

The challenges that this new system encounters includes that few people are familiar with this new learning system.

Mobilization activities should be given much time as to help people understand and embrace this system.

Dr Innocent Rusagara who is the Principal of the WEC urged the graduates to utilize the skills acquired in their daily activities so be effective and help Rwanda achieve its social and development agenda.

The WEC has campuses in Bugesera, Nyamata town and in Kigali city.

This one month training session was sponsored by the WDA in collaboration with the Skills Development Fund(SDF).
